NEWS & NEWS-FEATURES

While I wrote these stories, my parents would find me huddled over my laptop with empty Starbucks cups by my side as I lost track of time searching for data or finding the best wording. News and news-feature stories intrigue me like nothing else because of the impact they can create.

Prairie Village Protests

To write this story well, my co-editor and I needed to be present for the protest in our community. Taking notes on our phones and experiencing the reality of the social justice movement helped us with details and provided a deeper understanding.

I interviewed five leaders and community members and made the infographic at the bottom of the story. My co-editor interviewed a few others, and we wrote the story together.
